One of the other goals of the nationwide event, named "Power to Express Your Space Day" is that young people will have the opportunity to connect with each other in an effort to increase social harmony and nonviolence. SHiNE, (Seeking Harmony in Neighborhoods Everyday) is a nationally active organization dedicated to social harmony. Sakura of America, a national art materials company, provided $500,000 retail value of Cray-Pas® oil pastels as the main art medium for the sidewalk murals. Other sponsors include Carson Pirie and Power Up! which are actively involved in distribution and event execution.
