The world’s best players will be on court in St. Louis, March 31- April 2, 2006, displaying the speed, reflexes and spectacular shot making that distinguish doubles squash as one of the world’s truly unique and exciting spectator sports. For the first time in its 73-year history, the U.S. Doubles Squash Championships will feature an ISDA-sanctioned men’s professional championship and a women’s professional championship as well as nearly 150 players competing in 11 amateur draws.

The Sotheby’s International Realty U.S. Doubles Squash Championships, presented by Missouri Physicians Mutual, begins Friday, March 31 and continues through Sunday, April 2 at The Racquet Club of St. Louis, Missouri Athletic Club and the University Club of St. Louis.

The men’s professional draw features the world’s top players, including the #1 ranked team of Canadian Gary Waite and Damien Mudge of Australia, who won 64 consecutive matches before the streak was ended in November by #2 seeds American Preston Quick and Aussie Ben Gould.

The top seeds in the women’s professional championship are defending champions Alicia McConnell, holder of a record 10 national doubles titles, and Pochi Holdenfer. The second seeds are Demer Holleran, who won nine national titles with McConnell before taking a hiatus in 2005, and Meredeth Quick, who won the U.S. Mixed Doubles Championship two weeks ago with brother Preston.
