WaveRider adds new integrated outdoor modem to its Last Mile Solution® family
EUM3006 offers the most flexible and cost-effective solution for 900MHz system deployments; smart-diversity antenna enhances performance

(OTC BB: WAVR), the leader in non-line-of-sight wireless broadband technology and deployments, today announced the addition of the EUM3006, an integrated outdoor modem for its 900 MHz Last Mile Solution® (LMS) product family. The new modem enables WaveRider operators to expand their service areas, reach even more subscribers, and enjoy greater flexibility in customer deployments.
The EUM 3006 is an integrated outdoor modem which combines WaveRider’s award winning non-line-of-sight modem technology, and a high-gain smart-diversity antenna designed specifically for outdoor deployments in a weatherproof package. The EUM3006 delivers higher RF power for greater signal strength and features easy installation through the use of a hand-held portable alignment tool. The EUM3006 is equipped with industry standard 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE). The new product also includes a simple set-up menu, which can enable subscribers to self-install their EUM3006 modems.

WaveRider’s EUM3006 is ideal for longer range deployments and in areas where there are severe barriers to line-of-sight wireless connections. The EUM3006 can be operated on the same base stations as WaveRider’s EUM3004 wireless modem and indoor antennas, enabling operators to reach new customers without having to invest in additional infrastructure or base stations.

The EUM3006 integrated outdoor modem uses WaveRider’s smart-diversity antenna, which improves the signal quality for longer range installations by reducing the signal fade caused by multipath. The smart-diversity antenna can operate in either vertical or horizontal polarization mode and will automatically select the best polarization to use on a packet-by-packet basis.
WaveRider will showcase its EUM3006 integrated outdoor modem at the Wireless Communications Association’s 11th Annual International Symposium and Business Expo at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California from January 12 to 14, 2005.
