The auction market continued to surge with 106 sales in 2006. As expected, Bordeaux First Growths dominated with Mouton Rothschild, Lafite, Latour, Margaux and Petrus contributing the most volume. Buyers should take note that most of the major auction houses have increased buyers’ premiums for U.S. auctions from the typical 17.5% to 19.5%.
