PushCorp, Inc., a developer of automated tools for surface finishing, is currently engaged
by the U.S. Navy to create a tool which will significantly change the way aircraft’s are
repaired.

Using VenturCom’s real time operating system, the Real-time ETS Kernel, PushCorp
developed an embedded application called STARC (Scarfing Tool for Automated Repair
of Composites), which is a pneumatic robotic manipulator for surface repair.
STARC's primary purpose is to prepare a "scarf" or graduated hole around a
particular area damaged on an aircraft. Damage can result from ammunition, bird strikes
or maintenance tool accidents. The scarfing creates an impression that resembles a
satellite dish, radiating out from the hole to the plane's outermost layer. Once the scarf is
created, developing new layers repairs the damage.

VenturCom’s real-time ETS Kernel is the underlying technology, which allows
for uninterrupted output.
