Top PR Industry Executives to Assume Highest Leadership Positions at Streampipe.com
(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 30, 2001 ) Streampipe.com, one of the largest providers of Internet broadcasting services exclusively for enterprises, today announced the appointment of Joseph K. Fisher as chief executive officer and Kurt Krauss as chairman. Both gentlemen join Streampipe from top C-level positions at public relations giant Burson-Marsteller.
Joseph K. Fisher previously served as CEO for Burson-Marsteller U.S., a subsidiary of the world's largest PR firm1, Burson-Marsteller Worldwide. Based in its New York office, Fisher was one of B-M's highest ranking senior executives, overseeing all major operations in the U.S., including client relations, fiscal operations, and strategic direction for the $300 million subsidiary of media giant Young & Rubicam/WPP (NASDAQ: WPPGY).
In his new position as Streampipe's CEO, Fisher will be responsible for all facets of corporate operations, focusing on the development of new clients and markets, strategic growth and providing the catalyst for the company's shift towards a relationship-focused, client-driven professional services organization.
"It is a tremendous endorsement of our business and industry that an executive of Joe's stature has agreed to accept the top position at Streampipe," said Streampipe Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer Blair S. Fuller. "His experience and ability will help us transition the company beyond content distribution to the provision of broader critical communication solutions."
"Joe's commitment to Streampipe also confirms our corporate belief that Internet broadcasting is more than a new technology," said Michael Ahern, Streampipe's chief operating officer. "What we have here, rather, is the start of a communications revolution."
Prior to B-M, Fisher headed his own advertising and public relations agencies in New York. Throughout his career, Fisher has represented Fortune 500 companies that include Citibank, Colgate-Palmolive, Ford Motor Company, XEROX, Sun Microsystems, Qualcomm, and Visa.
Also announced today, Streampipe board member Kurt Krauss assumes the role of chairman, where he provides strategic and financial vision to the executive management team and coordinates the operations of the Board of Directors. Krauss recently held the position of chief financial officer for Burson-Marsteller Worldwide. Prior to B-M, Krauss ran a successful consulting company that was eventually sold to B-M and also served as a partner at consulting firm Booz-Allen & Hamilton.
"Kurt has been instrumental to the growth of the company from its early days," said Streampipe Chief Financial Officer Bill Donovan. "The addition of Joe and Kurt to our management team signals that we have done a lot of things right. With our new chairman and CEO in place, in addition to our strong existing team, we are properly positioned to accelerate positive growth in very short order."
These latest announcements cap several months of growth for Streampipe, which has included the expansion of its Alexandria headquarters, the opening of regional offices in New York, Chicago, San Mateo, Calif. and Dallas, and the signing of several new clients representing more than $1.5 million in revenue.
