The Future of Theme Decorating: Fun 3D Virtual Environments for Kids

(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 29, 2006 ) Austin, TX – Steven Holloway with AustinThemeBeds.com has added 3 dimensions of fun in theme room decorating for kids. That fun being “Look A Like” beds.

Many parents today decorate thier children’s rooms in a variety of ways to be unique to their child’s specific tastes. They understand that their child is unique. As a parent, they will do everything they can to make their children’s childhood be happy and memorable. There are many basic elements utilized when decorating a childs room: murals painted on the walls, wall borders, lamps, curtains, bedding, and so on. But that’s not everything as a child needs a place to sleep as well, so why not get a bed to match your theme? A bedroom is not complete until you have a bed in it. After all you have had to shop everywhere searching for all the items that can go in their room. Why stop there and give them just a basic wooden bed or metal frame that has nothing to do with the theme or motif in which you have spent so much time creating? It is almost like spending all weekend on a fancy house made of cards, just to throw a brick on top of all of it when finished. A theme bed that will go well with your current décor adds color and fun in the room, like the cherry on top of a milk-shake. Create a room that will give your child fond memories for years to come, and one that will encourage their imagination. Even Albert Einstein himself stated in part of a speech “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world”.

There are a variety of places where you can locate kid’s beds that are oriented around themes. Many you will be able to find are blow up beds or plastic molded beds. There are other ones available online if you know where to search. To locate these beds you can go to your favorite search engine and type in “Theme Beds”. After all, that is what they are, but most of us would never think of them being called that. We usually just think to search for “Kids Beds”, but since they are really more than that, it’s not an effective method of locating them on a search engine. After all, you are looking for that cherry right? Not a brick, when decorating your child’s room.

What kind of custom made beds are available? There are many different types and sizes. One of the most important elements is whether it will fit your budget and end up being something your child is going to enjoy. Most of the custom beds are generally more expensive, and cost around $2,000 to $5,000 each. They take approximately 6 to 10 weeks on average for delivery. So put a lot of thought into those prices and time frames before you decide which bed you choose. Many of them can easily take up the entire free space in your child’s room, so keep that in mind as well. They are a nice touch, and fun to look at, but don’t necessarily fit everyone’s needs or budget.

Theme beds such as tractors, castles, jeeps, trains, animals, and yes, even cars have been around for years. Theme Beds are one of those items most people can never afford, but would still love to have for their children. Austin Theme Beds LLC, a Texas based company, has been in business for almost 3yrs making custom beds. They spent a year researching and developing a new product design that would eliminate the long wait time, solve space constraints, and cut the expense custom beds have. They also researched what kids liked, such as the types of cartoons, video games, etc. They also considered the important factors and concerns parents had shared as well.

The Austin Theme Beds, LLC solution was “Look A Like”. These new beds are a fraction of the cost of custom beds of the past and averaging around $400 to $800. They only take about a week on average to deliver (2 wks for custom requests). Also, the Look A Like beds take up less room than their predecessors by averaging only 2 to 4 inches more than the size of the mattress. Austin Theme Beds, LLC engineered the bed to be part of the room without overpowering it. After all, kids still need room to play with their toys and most of us do our best to keep the toys out of the rest of the house. They also looked at what areas get dirty most often, which are the inside of their beds from playing in and on them often. Austin Theme Beds, LLC incorporated the use of melamine which touts an impressive scratch and stain resistant surface. They have tested pencil marks, dry erase markers, washable markers, and crayons on this surface. All marks were removed very easily with simple soap and water. Many Crayons just wipe off with a dry cloth! Austin Theme Beds, LLC then looked at the most vulnerable part of the bed, which are the edges. They added a protective plastic T Molding on the edges to increase the durability against any blows or bumps. Then they went to the outside of the bed, which is the part to match the décor or theme of the child’s room. This is where Austin Theme Beds, LLC spent a great deal of time in research. They wanted something more realistic and appealing to children. They wanted a look that would be similar to the cartoons and video games of today. This is where they brainstormed the idea of 3D images. The beds save much space and still look 3 dimensional. Austin Theme Beds, LLC claim that these 3D images can even play tricks on your mind. They have an example of this mind trick online at their site at AustinThemeBeds.com. They are called “Look A Like” beds, because they resemble real life objects.

Imagine turning your child’s small room into a 3D virtual environment. 3D murals on the walls make even the smallest room look larger. And with affordable 3D furniture now available, you can really begin to create a world of their own in any setting you can dream up. Although 3D wallpaper, or Trompe L’Oeil Murals have been around for some time, these new “Look A Like” beds offer affordable decorating alternative that was not possible until recently. The possibilities are endless, no matter how small or large a project you have in mind for your child’s room. Your imagination is the limit.
