The Dubai Ports Deal: Another Scenario For Bush Impeachment
Let's hope Bush is dumb enough to oppose Congress on this one.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 24, 2006 ) Alexandria, VA -- Perhaps he is actually so isolated and deluded that he really does think this deal is okay. And maybe he has some secret reason why he really, really wants it to go through. Or maybe he knows it's a bad idea, but doesn't want to admit "his government" was wrong.
Whatever the truth may be, let's all hope that he is dumb enough to go against Congress and the American people on this one, and he announces the deal is going through as planned. So then Congress passes legislation next week to block the deal, and Bush vetoes it, as he said he would do. Congress then over-rides the veto. Bush then cites his so-called "executive powers" to break the law if he wants to, and disregards the over-ride of his veto, allowing the deal go forward anyway.
Then what? Only one more thing to do, and maybe Congress will finally do it: IMPEACH HIM, for the high crime of deliberately and repeatedly breaking the laws duly enacted by Congress. Then remove him from office, like we should have done a long time ago, for the very same reason, but were afraid to try.
