Storyline: Marisa (González) is distraught after being left at the altar - she becomes embittered, and emotionally inflexible: a woman made of wood.

One day at the family ranch, Marisa and her sister Aída (Paleta) meet Carlos (Soto), the cook's handsome son. Aída falls for him, but Carlos is attracted to Marisa. This angers Efraín (Carlos Cámara Jr.), the ranch's foreman, who wants to marry Marisa to gain control of the property.

In an attempt to protect her sister from the heartaches love can bring, Marisa makes a play for Carlos. Little does she know that he will be the man who re-ignites the ashes of her "wooden heart".and help her rediscover the joy of true love.
