This year, with the anniversary of 9/11 adding to student stress, a national violence prevention organization sponsored by Chevrolet and run by students is helping parents and students prepare their kids to handle potential volatile situations as they head into another school year.

The national organization, Students Against Violence Everywhere, or SAVE, sponsored by Chevrolet, helps teach students how to cope with the threat of violence, and how to react, if actually confronted with aggression. SAVE also encourages parents to check with their child's school regarding weapons and visitor policies - and to stress sharing information about potentially destructive behavior by other kids with a trusted adult.
