Pageflex Storefront Makes Deploying Web-to-Print Sites Quick and Easy, Premiers at drupa

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 06, 2004 ) Düsseldorf, Germany —— Pageflex (NASDAQ: BITS, www.pageflex.com), the leading provider of Web-to-print technology, today announced the premier of Pageflex Storefront at drupa 2004 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Storefront is a new software package from Pageflex that will enable a print provider to quickly and easily define and deploy a sophisticated, branded Web-to-print site, based on Pageflex technology.

With Pageflex Storefront, a print service provider utilizes a web-based application to create and administer a customized web-to-print site, with an attractive user interface. The application provides tools for publishing and managing a catalog of customizable document products, setting up user access, reviewing and managing orders submitted, setting site skinning, and defining user profile, shipping and purchasing options. The result is an automatically-generated Web site, customized and ready to use. End users of the site can select documents they wish to order from the product catalog, customize their selections using a sequence of easy to follow editing steps, and save and order their documents using a standard shopping cart interface.

A print service provider can use Pageflex Storefront to create consumer access on their main Web site for customizable products, but they can also create multiple sites, each with the look and feel unique to a particular client. In this way, a provider can quickly and easily create customized sites for valued customers, offering those customers the experience of ordering their own, branded, customized products from a private-label site.

Pageflex Storefront integrates with Pageflex Web-to-print technology including Mpower, for database-driven personalization, and .EDIT, for interactive online document customization. Storefront enables the service provider to simply check off which customization steps and interface options to include in each product’s editing workflow. For example, on one product, a service provider might offer a form filling step, a direct manipulation free editing step, and a database upload step for a personalized data-driven campaign. On another product, the service provider may choose to limit the customization options to just form filling.

“Pageflex Storefront revolutionizes the process of creating a Web-to-print site, reducing time-to-deployment from weeks or months to just days or even hours,” reports Anna Chagnon, Pageflex CEO. “It also dramatically reduces the level of expertise required to deploy a sophisticated Web-to-print site.”

Pageflex Storefront premiers at drupa 2004, and will be demonstrated in the Pageflex stand, Hall 8 Stand #82A07. “We’re extremely pleased to be announcing Storefront at drupa,” commented Chagnon. “Around the world, people look to drupa to see leading-edge offerings and get a pulse on industry directions and trends. Storefront represents a major step forward in the arena of online document customization, a hot topic in the printing and publishing world, and we’re confident that drupa is the appropriate platform for its premier.”

Pageflex Storefront will be available for testing by Pageflex customers starting just after drupa and is currently scheduled for release in early Summer.
