PFU Systems Introduces Server Class COM Express Extended Module
(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 25, 2007 ) Plymouth, MN, – PFU Systems announces the availability of the latest in its line of COM Express compliant modules introducing server level performance and features in an embedded form factor using the latest Intel technology. The Plug-N-Run™ E1 module combines Intel® Core™2 Duo performance, server class I/O support, and bullet proof data reliability in a PICMG standard form factor.

The Plug-N-Run E1 offers Core 2 Duo processors at 2.16 and 1.5 GHz. CPU performance is augmented with the E7520 and 6300ESB I/O controllers. These server class components provide a FSB at 667 MHz, support for dual channel access to up to 4GB of ECC memory, 2-x8 and 1-x4 lanes of PCI Express, and 2 Serial ATA channels with RAID support. In addition to these major throughput features, the E1 includes Gigabit Ethernet, 8 USB ports, and much more.
This substantial performance and throughput engine is packaged on the standard COM Express Extended 155mm x 110mm (6.1in x 4.3in) form factor. PFU Systems is one of the originators of the PICMG COM Express standard and the only PICMG member that provides the full-scale extended form factor.
