(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 12, 2001 ) OfficeDomain, Inc., provider of the most comprehensive unified communications solution in the market and leader in wireless messaging, announced it is adding a "Black Hat" Linux Messaging client to its list of offerings. MessageASAP® subscribers are currently able to access, respond to, and manage all email, voice, and fax messages from any Windows-based PC desktop or laptop computer, as well as on Palm OS and Pocket PC PDA's. Additionally alerts of new voice, fax and email messages can be received on any pager, cell phone (including PCS and WAP), or wireless PDA. Now, thanks to the Java-based "Black Hat" messaging client, Linux and Mac users will be able to enjoy these same features as well.

Other Capabilities of the MessageASAP® Client

PDA Support: MessageASAP® users of a PDA with a speaker and microphone, such as the HP Jornada or Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC, can listen to voice messages. They can respond to their messages via voice, fax or email. When a message is deleted from the PDA there is no further intervention needed when users go to their Webmail account (i.e., it does not need to be "deleted" a second time). They can send other types of attachments, such as Microsoft Word or Excel. If a hard copy of a file or message is needed, it can be forwarded to the nearest fax machine. In "off line mode" users can view and compose messages without wasting minutes or battery life, and then connect to send and/or receive messages.

Large Attachment Support: Another new addition to the MessageASAP client software is the ability to send large attachments. With the send large file capability, users of MessageASAP® can send any attachment (MP3, video clip, PowerPoint, images, etc.) up to 25MB without worry that the message is rejected because of its size. The recipient of the "attachment" receives a link to the file, which is available for seven days. In this way the sender is assured that the message is received, while at the same time the recipient is not inconvenienced waiting for mail to download, or having a large file eat up available disk usage limits, potentially preventing other messages from getting through.
