Nivisys Incorporates eMagin Microdisplays

OLED Easy to See in Night Vision Applications

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 09, 2004 ) HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y., June 9, 2004 -- eMagin Corporation (AMEX: EMA), the leading manufacturer of active matrix OLED-on-silicon displays, disclosed that its award-winning SVGA microdisplay is a key element in Nivisys Industries' new TAM-14(tm) thermal acquisition monocular.

The TAM-14 delivers immediate IR imagery and operates continuously up to six hours on two standard 3V lithium batteries. It can be quickly adapted to head gear, helmets, weapons, video output, extender lenses and other equipment. The basic system delivers 1.5X magnification over a 17 degree field of view. Other options include a 0.5x lens for a wide field of view, a 3X lens, and a 3X lens extender. The TAM-14 can also be purchased with a detachable display system for remote use. It is also available in configurations that enable the user to assign temperature colors and provide standard NTSC video output for surveillance applications.

"We designed the TAM-14 to deliver optimal performance from each component and accessory to support a full range of night vision applications," said Byron Harding, President, Nivisys Industries, LLC. "eMagin's OLED display delivers crisp images as soon as we turn on the TAM-14 regardless of the temperature, and its low power consumption makes a significant contribution to our system efficiency and size constraints."

"The TAM-14 delivers high-quality information for a number of critical applications," said Susan Jones, eMagin's chief marketing and strategy officer. "Nivisys has delivered a rugged, multi-purpose tactical night vision tool, and we are pleased that our displays contribute to its effectiveness."

Nivisys Industries' TAM-14(tm) thermal acquisition monocular provides the latest in miniature thermal sensor technology combined with eMagin's OLED microdisplay to provide a superior image in a compact package. The TAM-14 quickly adapts to weapons, head gear, helmets, video output, extender lenses, and more to meet the needs of ground based night operations, while requiring only 2 standard 3-volt Lithium batteries to provide 6 hours of continuous use.
