Newsletter and Website Launched To Provide Affordable Measures of Success To Marketers Worldwide
(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 30, 2002 ) -- For years, PR and Marketing professionals have talked about the need to measure their results, while doing very little about it. With the launch of The Measurement Standard, the first multi-lingual publication about evaluating marketing effectiveness, and the website measuresofsuccess.com that offers automated measurement system design, they no longer have an excuse. Accountability has become affordable for every organization.
The website's "Dashboard Development(sm)" wizard is based on the knowledge and experience of Katie Delahaye Paine who founded The Delahaye Group (now Delahaye Medialink, the world's largest communications measurement company). "Our mission is to teach marketers worldwide how to measure their success. That's why we publish a multi-lingual newspaper and that's also why we're offering a self-analysis system for those who think they can't afford to measure their results," Paine explains.
The "Dashboard Development(sm)" model helps organizations identify the key business measures of their success. "Organizations increasingly use 'dashboards' as tools to define and monitor the data needed to run their business," says Paine. "Traditionally, it's been difficult for communications professionals to define those numbers, and it's been expensive. Now, for $295, we design a custom measurement program and help them implement it."
A former journalist who worked for The Washington Post, The San Jose Mercury News and The Boston Herald, Paine sees the newsletter (available on www.TheMeasurementStandard.com,) as a cross between Consumer Reports and Fast Company for marketers. It offers product comparisons, how-to essays and even a soap opera between "Marketing Martha" and "Bottomline Bob," which illustrates common problems that measurement solves. "My goal is to make the whole subject of research and evaluation intriguing enough so everyone will want to learn about it."
Paine is not daunted by starting a dot.com in uncertain times. "When times get tough, the tough quantify results. I'm not sure the model would have worked in the old economy, but between the uncertain economy and the World Wide Web, we can reach a global audience from day one with the data it needs," she said.
