Featuring a base storage of up to 26TB, the new DST(R) 914 automated video server archive library can manage over 4700 hours of 12 Mbps video in less than 8 square feet and is scalable to hundreds of terabytes. At the heart of the archive library is an innovative DST tape drive designed to read and write 300GB DST data cartridges. Interfaced to the industry's most popular video servers the new library will shrink a room full of videotape into a small 29" by 39" footprint. The high-performance tape drive boasts a fast 20 megabytes-per-second data transfer rate, and can restore a one hour 12 Mbps video program from archive to video server in less than 5 minutes.
