The research found 38 percent have increased concerns about food safety due to biological terrorism. 34 percent have heightened awareness about food safety due to environmental issues. The California Olive Industry represents one of the oldest industries in the state and has some of the toughest standards including three government inspections. Industry representatives say the survey shows that Americans want that level of safety with everything they buy in the grocery store.
