Together, they represent decades of successful lodging experience and stellar achievement records. The hotel is within walking distance of Exchange Place and Pavonia/Newport mass transit PATH stations, allowing guests to reach either mid-town Manhattan or the World Trade Center area in minutes. Robert Bernardo is responsible for the Jersey City Exchange Place hotel, the second largest Candlewood Suites in the country. Michael Boyle and Denise Troche have been appointed directors of sales for the new hotel. John Dwiboroczyn is the new assistant general manager, and Nina Bloomberg the new assistant director of sales. -- Robert Bernardo, general manager Bernardo was most recently general manager for the Somerset, N.J., Candlewood Suites. Under his leadership, the Somerset hotel received a company award in 1999 for exceptional quality assurance and other top performance factors, including revenue and occupancy. That hotel was also recognized for having one of the fastest openings in the company. Bernardo's sales team earned awards for outstanding achievements in room revenue and occupancy, numbers and quality of sales calls, and cross selling. Bernardo has more than 12 years of hotel management experience and holds a Certified Hotel Administration Designation from the American Hotel & Motel Association.-- John Dwiboroczyn, assistant general manager Dwiboroczyn has 15 years of hotel experience in the New Jersey area, five of those in management. He comes from the upscale Madison Hotel in Morristown, N.J., where he handled front-office management. -- Michael Boyle, director of sales Boyle will concentrate on serving New York area clients. He was previously sales manager for Embassy Suites in Philadelphia and national sales manager for the 10 privately owned properties that comprise Manhattan East Suite Hotels. -- Denise Troche, director of sales Troche is responsible for serving clients in Jersey City. She brings valuable sales experience, having most recently been director of sales for Candlewood's Dallas-Las Colinas property in Irving, Texas. In 1999, she was named Candlewood director of sales for the year, which cited her outstanding hotel and personal achievements and community commitment. She also was recognized with a top honor for highest year-to-year revenue increase for the Las Colinas property. -- Nina Bloomberg, assistant director of sales Bloomberg has 15 years of hotel sales experience. She was most recently senior sales manager for the Roger Williams in New York, a Boutique Hotel Group property. In that position, Bloomberg served clients in Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. She also held sales positions for other upscale hotels, including Le Meridien Hotels and Hilton. Bloomberg has supported regional sales teams for New York and the East Coast and also has catering experience.
