Management Team Named for New Orange County Airport Candlewood Suites

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 30, 2001 ) WICHITA, Kan., -- Candlewood Hotel Co. (Nasdaq: CNDL)
has named Carolyn Stoops as general manager of the new Orange County Airport
Candlewood Suites, the fourth Candlewood Suites in Orange County. Michelle
Bell is the new director of sales. Bernard Matic is the new assistant general
manager.
Stoops most recently was general manager of the Orange County, Anaheim
South Candlewood Suites. She had previously been its director of sales. Last
November Stoops was named Candlewood's western region general manager rookie
of the year. Prior to joining Candlewood, she held sales positions for
Marriott for 10 years in the Orange County area.
Bell was director of sales at the Orange County, Irvine East Candlewood
Suites. Her extensive sales experience includes positions with Holiday Inn
and Country Inn and Suites.
Matic had been lead guest services representative at the Anaheim South
Candlewood Suites and has experience in front-office management and accounts
receivable.
The new Orange County Airport Candlewood Suites at 2600 S. Red Hill Ave.
is conveniently located at the corner of Red Hill Avenue and Barranca Parkway
and just two miles from John Wayne/Orange County Airport. The hotel will
feature 122 suites: 98 studios and 24 one-bedrooms.

Suites. Now, we have a location for any traveler doing business in Orange
County," says Carolyn Stoops, hotel general manager.
Candlewood Hotel Co. (Nasdaq: CNDL) owns, operates and franchises

travelers on short- or long-term stays. Chairman and CEO Jack DeBoer founded
Candlewood Suites in 1995 and Cambridge Suites in 1998. DeBoer previously
founded Residence Inn and co-founded Summerfield Suites. He is recognized in
the hotel industry as the creator of the extended stay concept.
