("Mace") (Nasdaq: MACE), a leading manufacturer and marketer of security products and provider of car care services, announced on September 30, 2002, that it has introduced a new advanced 2.4 GHz wireless audio and video monitoring system developed by its Mace Security Products Division.

Mace's new wireless monitoring system consists of a 6" high resolution black and white monitor with a 2.4 GHz receiver and one wireless black and white camera with a built-in microphone and an auto night sensor for viewing images in the dark. The monitor and camera have a built-in antenna and can be powered by an AC power supply, which is included, or by battery. The 6" display monitor and the 2.4 GHz receiver provides a user with a larger screen and higher frequency for viewing transmitted images. In addition, this new system offers a user an extended wireless range of up to 300 feet (92 meters) and contains a four-channel switcher that minimizes the risk of transmission interference. This system also allows for the connection of up to four cameras and a DVR (Digital Video Recorder) or VCR (Video Cassette Recorder), and is capable of viewing several transmitted images by manually switching a channel or utilizing the automatic switcher contained in the monitor.

Mace's new wireless system contains exceptional performance and user-friendly features providing an advanced surveillance system capable of meeting a user's security needs. The Company plans to utilize this product's diverse features by marketing it as a small wireless surveillance system under the name Mace®, and as a baby monitoring system under the name KinderGard®, which is a child safety product line owned by Mace. For over 20 years, KinderGard® has been a leading brand in child safety and has been successfully baby-proofing homes with products such as cabinet and door latches, electrical outlet plugs and furniture edge and corner cushions.
