Luis Sahun Appointed New Managing Director Of ASTRA Marketing Iberica
(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 27, 2004 ) Luis Sahun has been appointed Managing Director of ASTRA Marketing Iberica (Madrid), the Spanish subsidiary of Luxembourg-based satellite operator SES ASTRA, an SES GLOBAL company (Euronext Paris, Luxembourg and Frankfurt Stock Exchanges: SESG). Luis Sahun will start his new assignment with immediate effect and will be in charge of Customer Relations and Marketing in Spain and Portugal. Luis Sahun reports to Alexander Oudendijk, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing at SES ASTRA.
Prior to joining ASTRA, Luis gained extensive professional experience as Chief Executive Officer at Quiero TV, as Director of the Audiovisual Unit of Retevision S.A., as well as in Senior Management functions at Telsis Sistemas S.A., Ascom S.A., Nortel Spain, Grupo Radiotronica and Grupo Cables de Comunicaciones S.A. He looks back upon 24 years of experience in the Spanish media & telco market.
His extensive know how will be beneficial to further strengthen and develop ASTRA’s market position in Spain and Portugal.
Luis is a Spanish citizen aged 49 and holds an Engineering degree in Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Madrid. He is married and
father of two children.
Luis Sahun will take over activities from Albert Marti, who decided to end his position as head of the Spanish Marketing Office effective 26th July 2004.
Albert Marti has been ASTRA’s key representative in the Spanish and Portuguese markets since February 1993. He established ASTRA’s office in Madrid and was one of the key drivers of ASTRA’s success in the Spanish market. In close co-operation with Sogecable, ASTRA’s key Pay-TV customer in Spain, Albert Marti and his team achieved to make Spain one of the core markets for digital satellite reception in Europe.
