(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 06, 2001 ) Silicon Wave Inc., a leading designer and provider of RF communication system components, today announced the appointment of Jarvis Tou to the position of vice president of marketing and business development, effective immediately. With more than 12 years of product engineering management, marketing, and business development experience, Tou joins Silicon Wave from Intel Corp. where he spent the last eight years managing the marketing and business development efforts of various product divisions, including the eWave/Wireless Products Operation which he co-founded. In his new role at Silicon Wave, Tou will lead the company's marketing and business development efforts for the Bluetooth, silicon tuner, and 5 GHz markets.

During Tou's tenure at Intel, he was responsible for developing and delivering branded personal wireless products for end-users based on Bluetooth technologies. He also held several product management positions within the company including director of Peripheral Connectivity Products, marketing manager in the Advanced Personal Communications Division, and set-top development manager at Pacific Convergence Corporation, a joint venture between Intel and Pacific Century Group. Prior to joining Intel, Tou was with the ASIC Division at Motorola. He earned an MBA in marketing and finance from Arizona State University, and a MS in electrical engineering from Purdue University. Tou also received his BSEE from the University of Michigan.
