InSite from Fieldglass Improves Temporary Workforce Management for Buyers and Suppliers
(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 11, 2001 ) Chicago - Fieldglass, Inc., a leading human capital management (HCM) software technology and services company, has introduced Release 3.0 of InSite, its enterprise-wide, Web-based contract labor management solution.
The Fieldglass solution is a vendor-neutral application that creates a secure, private marketplace for a company and its chosen staffing suppliers. InSite automates and streamlines manual processes, so that corporate users can accurately track, measure and analyze every transaction for temporary services procurement, from “req to check.”
“The latest release contains new and enhanced features that make the application more efficient and easier to use, including context-sensitive online help and additional ‘wizards’ to walk the buyer through important processes, such as closing a project,” explains Fieldglass Vice President, Technology Sean Chou. New workforce management tools further compress cycle time by reducing the number of steps involved with key activities, such as creating a requisition, hiring a worker or revising the status of a contractor to extend a contract or change the pay rate.
“In addition,” adds Chou, “because information entered by one user can be leveraged by subsequent users, the value of data in the application multiplies as more people have access to it. For example, it’s now even easier for buyers to use an existing requisition as a template to build a new one.”
InSite also offers advanced customization features, allowing for a greater degree of modification to reflect a company’s specific requirements regarding permissions, preferences and notifications. With integration an increasingly important concern, Release 3.0 builds substantially on the software’s capability to be seamlessly integrated with legacy systems, ERP systems and e- commerce platforms. InSite’s updated version can also interact with applications in areas such as payment processing, customer support and interactive voice response. In addition, it accommodates attachments from most other applications and allows users to save data from the Fieldglass application as a CSV file and import it into other applications.
“Release 3.0 offers unprecedented support for those buyers working with a master service provider (MSP),” notes Chou. “This is driven by our philosophy that successful adoption of InSite is dependent on supplier satisfaction as well as buyer satisfaction. Offering a vendor neutral solution is only the first step in accomplishing this. Fieldglass is committed to going beyond vendor-neutrality, to develop features that actively support and enhance valuable buyer-supplier relationships."
As an example of the kind of functionality produced by this approach, Chou cites the new auto-matching feature, which identifies for suppliers which of the candidates they’ve selected to submit for a specific position qualify as “best matches.” The supplier then has the option of submitting only his or her “best matches.” The auto-match feature is complemented by a workforce management tool that automatically copies candidates to a pool to be resubmitted against other requisitions.
Return on investment (ROI) from deployment of InSite can encompass hard and soft cost savings, process improvements, and elimination of various managed services fees associated with subcontracting and consolidated invoicing.
Hard cost savings may be generated from many sources, such as standardization and enforcement of rate programs, reduced overtime premiums, decreased unauthorized savings, improved monitoring of service level agreements and increased FICA recapture. Potential areas of soft cost savings include streamlined interaction with suppliers, faster onboarding of contractors, better data collection and reporting, and more accurate forecasting of labor needs.
