InContext Enterprises Presents Contextual Design Workshop
(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 23, 2001 ) InContext Enterprises, the leading designer of customer-centered applications for advanced technologies, will be holding a three-day, hands-on workshop on contextual design methodology December 3 – 5, 2001, in Harvard, MA. The workshop is created for product and marketing managers, as well as product designers, developers and usability professionals and others involved in design and development who want to stop relying on the latest gimmicks and fads, and start building great experiences for the customers who will use their systems and products. The workshop will feature the following sessions:
·Day 1: How to collect and work with individual customer data
·Day 2: Building one picture of the customer population
·Day 3: Structuring a usable system
In the past, product designers typically based their creations on technological possibilities, which led to products that were hard to use and not always very useful. The Contextual Design methodology helps product designers gain a deeper understanding of customers as the basis of design, so the resulting products are both useful and usable. Drawing on techniques from a range of fields, it guides designers to in-depth understanding of how people work. The workshop will overview the entire Contextual Design process, from discovery through design and testing. The process was developed and formalized by InContext founders Karen Holtzblatt and Hugh Beyer over the past 13 years.
