Cuba, president of Jacksonville Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 5 - 30 and vice chair of the Mayor's Hispanic American Advisory Board, is the recipient of the Annual LULAC President's Law Enforcement Award for Community Service in Law Enforcement.

Hector M. Flores, LULAC national president, will present Mr. Cuba with the award during a ceremony at the organization's 76th National Convention and Exposition in Little Rock, Ark. June 27- July 2. The theme for this year's convention is "Emerging Latino Communities: Strengthening America."

"I'm delighted to see that Nelson is being recognized nationally for his accomplishments," said Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton. "He is a tremendous asset to the City of Jacksonville and he deserves to be honored for his hard work in our community."

LULAC is an organization aimed at advancing the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population in the United States.
