Service With A Smile At The 2002 Olympic Winter Games
(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 08, 2002 ) It may not be an official Olympic sport, but making Big Mac sandwiches at lightning speed and excellence has all the thrills of a world class event in Salt Lake City. Gold medal Olympians, Bonnie Blair and Carl Lewis, will coach members of McDonald's World Champion Crew who will show off their Big Mac-building skills at a special live exhibition on Thursday, February 7th. An international panel of judges will award medals to crew teams in the categories of speed, smile, teamwork and technical excellence.
The fastest team at the exhibition will have to build a record?setting number of Big Mac sandwiches in just three minutes. IOC President, Dr. Jacques Rogge, will preside over the exhibition.
McDonald's World Champion Crew are 400 "Best of Our Best" crew members from five continents who were chosen through worldwide competitions held this past year among McDonald's 1.3 million crew from 29,000 restaurants in 121 countries. These outstanding individuals will proudly serve McDonald's "familiar taste of home" to the athletes and media at special food service sites in the Olympic Village and Main Media Center.
