Worthington Property with Interesting History on the Auction Block

November 15th, 2006 could change history again for the 2 acre parcel in Worthington, Ohio as it seeks a new owner through a Court Ordered Auction.
The property, now known as 5721 N. High St., began as a small parcel of land with a modest home. According to one of the former owners, when she purchased the property in 1988, it was being used as a collective farm for free willed individuals living the life of the 1960’s. The land was developed in the early 1990’s by Organizational Horizons and the building was granted an Architectural Integrity Award from the Worthington Historical Society. While the original development plans called for two buildings to be built on the parcel, only one was actually erected.
In 2000, Organizational Horizons sold the development to its current owner James Houck. In 2005, the current owner entered foreclosure and the property has been in limbo ever since. Earlier this year, Gryphon Asset Advisors was appointed receiver and the auction was scheduled.
