Wilson, who has served as interim chief operating officer since July 2001, will be responsible for sales, marketing, human resources, operations and professional services. "During the last six months, I focused on shaping the future growth strategy of Forgent," Wilson said. "These individuals possess proven leadership skills, solid industry experience, and strong strategic and tactical capabilities," said Richard Snyder, chairman and chief executive officer of Forgent. "They are valuable additions to our senior management team, and will be instrumental in directing our overall marketing initiatives, furthering our identity, and strengthening our leadership in the videoconferencing marketplace." Seidel, who joined the company (then known as VTel Solutions) in 1995 as director of sales for Integrated Services, has successfully created services products around integration, support and consulting that garnered wide customer acceptance; developed programs to promote, coordinate and track service sales to channel customers; and effectively managed and coordinated the marketing strategy for the new company launch. Harris brings 16 years of experience in marketing enterprise software products. Most recently, she was director of marketing and product management at ClearCommerce - an Austin-based software startup in the Internet transaction processing market. Prior to that, Harris spent eight years with BMC Software in various key roles including director of field marketing, director of product marketing, and development management. Harris, who also spent several years with Andersen Consulting in various capacities, graduated from Northwestern University with a master's degree in marketing.
