Henderson Road, Topeka, Kan., between the key intersections of 10th Avenue and Wanamaker Road and Interstate 70 and Wanamaker Road. The new hotel is near corporate headquarters for Security Benefit Group of Companies; regional offices for State Farm and American Family Insurance; and Menninger, an internationally renowned psychiatric institution. The hotel will also serve such major companies as Western Resources, Stormont-Vail HealthCare and Hill's Pet Nutrition. The Topeka Candlewood Suites is owned and operated by Candlepoint Topeka LLC of Emporia, Kan., under a franchise agreement with Candlewood Hotel Co. The hotel will be managed by A.G. Hospitality Services Inc. of Wichita. Steve and Paula Sauder and Jim Korroch are Candlepoint Topeka's main shareholders. Steve Sauder is an entrepreneur and co-founder of the Valu-Line Companies, which merged in 1998 with Birch Telecom of Kansas City.
