SCRIPT: Look at a typical American family's movie collection and you're probably going to find a bunch of DVDs. In fact, DVD sales are growing three times as fast as the VHS tape format. And nearly half of all households have a DVD system. This format has become so popular that companies are beginning to use them as giveaway premiums. In a first in the industry, General Mills and Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment are giving away four collectible DVD titles on boxes of six Big G cereals. Pam Kermisch is with General Mills.
CUT: (Kermisch) We have been bringing families together over bowls of cereal for generations. We think giving away family oriented movies and TV shows on DVD will be a natural extension of this, to bring families together through entertainment.
