(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 07, 2005 ) TORONTO – WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTC BB: WAVR), the leader in non-line-of-sight wireless broadband technology and deployments, today announced that DNS Inc., an Internet services company, has launched its ‘DNS Lightspeed’ wireless broadband services in 20 communities in Ohio using WaveRider’s non-line-of-sight technology.
“Our customers are extremely pleased with the speed and reliability of our DNS Lightspeed wireless broadband service,” said Kyle Yoder, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, DNS Inc. “WaveRider’s wireless system has enabled us to develop a very successful business model that fueled our growth in Ohio. We plan to build on this success by implementing this business model in selected communities in Ohio and other states where there is a strong demand for wireless broadband.”
DNS Inc. has established 17 wireless base stations throughout its services area in Northeast Ohio. Each base station is equipped with WaveRider’s 900 MHz LMS4000 equipment, which delivers broadband services to subscribers and supports advanced applications including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). DNS has also installed WaveRider’s 5.8 GHz bridges/routers to connect each tower site, providing fast, reliable, end-to-end connectivity.
“Our success has also been driven by the ability to offer our customers a variety of service and pricing packages, from basic Internet connections for simple e-mail and web browsing applications, to bundled services that include high-bandwidth features such as VoIP, and advanced business applications,” added Yoder. “WaveRider’s systems allow us to easily manage various levels of services among our customer base, and to expand our networks quickly as we add new subscribers.”
