Construction Under Way for Third Colorado Candlewood Suites
(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 05, 2001 ) WICHITA, Kan., -- Construction on the third Candlewood Suites in Colorado has begun in Colorado Springs, Colo. The new hotel -- set to open in September -- is owned and operated by Jannie Richardson of Richardson Enterprises in Colorado Springs, under a franchise agreement with Candlewood Hotel Co. (Nasdaq: CNDL), of Wichita, Kan. The project is valued at about $5 million.
Located at 6450 N. Academy Blvd., the new Candlewood Suites is near the intersection of Academy and Dublin boulevards and just two miles from Interstate Highway 25.
Candlewood Suites offers larger-than-average guest suites that are
perfectly suited for business travelers and loaded with amenities. The new hotel will feature 122 suites: 24 one-bedrooms; 80 studios; and 18 studio doubles. Each suite includes a complete kitchen, oversized recliner, 25-inch television, large business desk, adjustable executive chair, and two phone lines including a data port.
Amenities include free local phone calls and incoming faxes, free laundry facilities, low-cost long distance, 25-cent soft drinks, free video and CD checkouts and an upscale exercise room. Guests can buy food items, snacks and sundries 24-hours-a-day from the Candlewood Cupboard, an on-site, honor-based pantry where items are value-priced.
