Construction Begins for Sixth Virginia Candlewood Suites
Late April Opening Planned
(EMAILWIRE.COM, November 29, 2000 ) WICHITA, Kan., -- Ground was recently broken for a new Candlewood Suites in Hopewell, Va. A late April opening is planned for the hotel, which will be the sixth Candlewood Suites in the state. The property is owned and operated by Nav Yuga Hospitality of Richmond, Va., under a franchise agreement with Candlewood Hotel Co. (Nasdaq: CNDL), of Wichita, Kan. Rama Gara is managing member of Nav Yuga.
Heffner & Weber of Linthicum Heights, near Baltimore, is building the hotel at 5013 Plaza Drive.
Candlewood Suites offers larger-than-average guest suites, which are loaded with amenities and perfectly suited for business travelers. The new hotel will feature 60 suites: 21 studios, 12 one bedrooms and 27 studio doubles, which include two full-size beds. Each suite includes a complete kitchen, oversized recliner, 25-inch television, large business desk,adjustable executive chair, two phone lines and data port.
Amenities include free local phone calls and incoming faxes, low-cost long distance, free laundry facilities, 25-cent soft drinks, free video and CD checkouts and an upscale exercise room. Value priced food items, snacks and sundries are available 24-hours-a-day from the honor-based Candlewood Cupboard pantry.
