Citizens Communications Selects Viryanet Service Hub
Independent ILEC Uses ViryaNet's Service Hub to Automate 2500 Field Engineers, Increase Business Efficiency, and Improve Customer Service
(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 30, 2001 ) Southborough, Mass. -- ViryaNet (NASDAQ: VRYA), a provider of wireless workforce management solutions for field service communities, today announced that Citizens Communications, a full-service telecommunications provider and one of the country's largest independent incumbent local exchange carriers (ILEC), selected the Company's Service Hub solution. The value of the contract is approximately $4.5 million. Citizens Communications, which serves 1.4 million telephone access lines in 17 states, will use Service Hub to automate and optimize the activities of its field workforce and improve its delivery of customer service.
"The telecommunications industry continues to experience fierce competition," stated Monica Braden, director of OSS, Citizens Communications. "Citizens is adopting state-of-the-art technology to assure excellent service to our customers. Implementing a web-based workforce management solution will enable us to better manage our growing mobile workforce, streamline our processes, and allow for significant gains in efficiency. Best of all, as our business evolves, Service Hub's unique architecture will allow us the freedom to scale and to make customizations without having to re-code."
With Service Hub, Citizens Communications will be able to automate and optimize the deployment of 2500 field engineers by scheduling and dispatching the right field engineer to the right place at the right time with the right information, with a goal of reducing truck rolls, tracking the progress of service calls, improving response time, and improving customer service.
"As deregulation becomes a reality for telecommunications companies, organizations must deploy world-class technology to compete," said Win Burke, COO and president, ViryaNet. "Citizens Communications recognizes that customer service is the key to success in this rapidly expanding market, and as such, has deployed our technology to serve the needs of their growing business."
