(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 27, 2001 ) The California Science Center,
located in Exposition Park, celebrated its 5 millionth visitor
on May 23, 2001, drawing approximately 1.5 million visitors
per year since its opening on February 7, 1998. The
California Science Center is among the most highly
attended science museum/centers in the country.

The lucky 5 millionth visitor was Jacqueline Harris of
Pinecrest School in Valencia, CA, who was on a field trip
with her classmates to the Science Center. As a prize to
celebrate the event, the Pinecrest School will be receiving
the DIRECTV GOES TO SCHOOL program which will
include free SCHOOL CHOICE(tm) educational
programming, a DIRECTV with TiVo System, Lifetime
Membership to TiVo Service and Standard Professional
Installation.

On hand to present the prize was DIRECTV Manager of
Philanthropy Jane Taft, and Science Center Executive
Director Jeffrey N. Rudolph. "It gives me great pleasure to
mark this Science Center milestone with a gift to Pinecrest
School. We are pleased that the Science Center has been
able to serve 5 million children and their families and look
forward to serving many more in the future," said Rudolph.

The California Science Center's mission is to stimulate
curiosity and inspire science learning. It features 245,000
sq. ft. of more than 100 interactive exhibits that help children
and their families discover how science relates to everyday
