Other schools are simply going without school supplies, sports equipment and field trips. With government funding declining, schools are looking elsewhere for answers. The answer to fundraising may be as easy as sitting down to dinner with your family.

Box Tops For Education, a program that was started in 1996, has given nearly $70 million to America's schools. The way the program works is for consumers to clip the box top coupons off selected food products, like Green Giant, Old El Paso and Progresso Soup, and send them in to participating schools. The schools then redeem each box top for 10 cents, which can add up quickly.

The coupons redemption program allows schools with grades K through 8 to raise as much as $20,000 per year to help purchase equipment that is needed, but not in the budget. More than 70,000 schools are currently enrolled in Box Tops For Education.
