American Express Extends Spokesperson Contract With Tiger Woods
(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 12, 2000 ) American Express Company today announced Tiger Woods will continue as a global spokesperson for the company through mid-2007. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Mr. Woods has been a spokesperson for American Express since 1997 and has represented the company in a number of print and television commercials, beginning with a spot for American Express Financial Advisors in which his father Earl also appeared. The current American Express advertising campaign - "Moments of Truth" - shows Tiger playing golf on the toughest course in the world - the streets of Manhattan.
In addition to advertising, Mr. Woods has also made appearances for American Express at World Golf Championship events, including hosting golf clinics with Cardmembers, which have also been webcast to the public. This past November he played golf on a specially-designed course in London's Hyde Park to celebrate the company's newest card in the United Kingdom new green from American Express.
