(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 01, 2007 ) San Angelo, TX - -The American Emu Association (AEA) announced plans this month to provide a booth for the 8th straight year at the American Oil Chemist Society (AOCS) Meeting and Expo. The event will be held this year in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada on May 13-16, 2007. “We have always found it worthwhile to attend,” stated Cyril Klein, AEA Oil Standards/Research Chair. “It is an opportunity to not only educate professionals interested in the fats and oils market about the uses of emu oil, but it allows us to introduce them to members of our organization who can supply their needs.” AEA maintains a list of Certified Business Members ranging in size from on-the-farm operations to processing plants capable of supplying large quantities of pure emu oil in all three grades. The AEA Emu Oil Trade Rules recognizes three grades of emu oil, Grade “A”, Grade “B” and Grade “C”. These grades are reviewed and updated each year by the AEA Emu Oil Standards Team. Grade “A” is fully refined and used for pharmaceutical, cosmetic and dietary supplement purposes. Grade “B” is once refined oil used for industrial and some cosmetic purposes. Grade “C” is crude emu oil and commonly used in hot process soaps or animal feeds. AEA Certified Fully Refined Emu Oil is Grade “A” emu oil in which the sample is sent to an American Oil Chemist Society (AOCS) chemist for an independent analysis. The results of that analysis are registered with the American Emu Association. The AEA Certified Fully Refined Seal offers reassurance to product companies concerned about safe ingredients. The Seal indicates a well-respected third party has tested the emu oil for purity. This reassurance can be passed on to their customers through use of the seal and batch number on their packaging.
