ART Advanced Recognition Technologies Directors Name Yakov Shulman as Acting CEO
Aharonson Steps Down as CEO of Voice Recognition firm; Will Remain as Member of Advisory Board
(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 13, 2004 ) ATLANTA, Ga. –– ART Advanced Recognition Technologies, a leading provider of voice interface solutions for mobile devices, announced today that its board of directors has elected Yakov Shulman as acting CEO. The appointment follows the announcement that after 12 years of service to ART, CEO Eran Aharonson will leave the company to pursue other business interests. Shulman has served as vice president of sales since joining the company in 1999.
“Eran has contributed a great deal to the growth and development of ART,” said company chairman Ron Elwell. “We are saddened by his decision, but we know him as a man of many passions, and we wish him well in all of them. Fortunately, Eran and Yakov have worked extremely close within the company’s executive office over the past several years, and the choice of a replacement was clear to the board, as well as to the management team.”
“I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished during the past decade at ART,” said Aharonson. “I leave with mixed emotions, but I know that our management team ranks among the best in the industry. Yakov is a powerfully capable executive and strong leader, and I look forward to great new directions and developments in the future.”
Yakov Shulman has directed the company’s sales and marketing activities worldwide since joining ART in 1999. Prior to that, he was an independent marketing consultant for a number of high-tech companies and served as deputy vice president of sales and marketing for Tadiran Communications & Systems. Shulman holds an MSc and BSc in electronic engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
The company also announced the election of Shulman as a member of the board of directors and said that Aharonson had agreed to stay on as a senior member of the ART Advisory Board.
