(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 27, 2012 ) Manila, Philippines – January 19, 2012 – Filipino-American director and actor Ace Cruz is heading out for Boracay not only to sample the pristine waters and white sands but also to promote the place via a new project he is concocting.
Ace Cruz, a noted Filipino-American director and actor has recently announced plans to make a film that will showcase the charms of the island of Boracay. Cruz also says that he’s already writing the script for the said film.
Apparently, the project will be a combination of comedy and adventure, which is really something new to the gifted auteur. Most of Ace Cruz’s work fall along the lines of action movies such as Outrage (with Michael Madsen) and Fate (with Lee Majors).
Cruz hopes that his work will bring Boracay back into the tourism map and bring the world to see the beautiful things in store for them on the island. Cruz laments over the fact that some foreign tourists are a bit unwilling to come over and see the place for themselves due to recent events. The latest natural disasters including flooding that hit the southern Philippines have brought quite a scare in some foreigners.
Cruz was gracious enough to reveal the title of the film he is about to make, which is “Boracay, Life is Good.” Well, the title pretty much sounds like a tourism ad slogan by its own. However, the actor slash director is quick to point out that this project is inspired by such cult films as Napoleon Dynamite and Superbad.
It appears that support for the film is already there since Cruz has already found an investor who is more than willing to pump up the idea. The owner of well known resorts on Boracay Island such as Ariel’s Point and BBC Beach Resort, Ariel Abriam, was ready to lend a hand seeing the potential of Cruz’s film to be one of the producers of the said movie. Abriam is also the current president of the Boracay Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The idea is already well spun as it is and Cruz has already thought of a sequel to the film that’s already in the works. It should be expected that the talented director and actor will be starring in the said film himself as he has done so in the past. With such support in the offing along with an intuitive idea already laid out carefully, along with a great location like White Beach in Boracay, this film is one to look out for.
