Las Vegas, NV, January 17, 2012: Redux Beverages LLC (the “Company”) announced today that in its continuing fight for American’s 1st Amendment rights, that the Redux website www.drinkcocaine.com will be “Dark” for 24 hours as of 12AM January 18, 2012, in the opposition support against the poorly written SOPA and PIPA draft legislation.
Redux joins other companies such as Reddit, Wikipedia, BoingBoing, Imgur, Tucows, icanhascheezburger.com, FAIL Blog, The Daily What and according to the group “Fight for the Future”, nearly 12,000 other websites will join the blackout.
The founders of Google, Twitter, Wikipedia, Yahoo! and other Internet giants said in an open letter last month the legislation would give the US government censorship powers "similar to those used by China, Malaysia and Iran."
