New Car Quotes Online (NCQO) Reports Fisker Karma Making News Despite Not Making Any Sales
Highly-touted green carmaker Fisker Karma has been making news for months. Unfortunately, they have yet to sell a single vehicle.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 13, 2012 ) Asheville, NC - As of the end of November, Fisker had yet to finalize any official sales, not a single one. To casual observers of the auto industry, or more specifically, observers of the green-vehicle industry, the news that Fisker has zero sales may come as a surprise.
After all, Fisker, the California start-up selling the $96,000 Karma, has made headlines since last spring saying the company has been making sales. And, there is no reason to doubt its claim that 3,000 consumers have put down payments on Karmas. However, up until the end of November, the company, which is backed by a $529 million federal loan, has failed to complete a sale to any actual customers.
There have been a number of reasons (excuses?) for this failure to close sales. Some sales failed because the Karma had not been certified by either California emissions officials or the Environmental Protection Agency. Then, once the car had earned its certifications, the automaker’s battery supplier let go 125 workers due to a paucity of orders from Fisker.
No one knows for sure what 2012 holds for the company, but it is clear that up until this point, Fisker has only had bad Karma.
