(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 06, 2011 ) CODY, Wyo. -- The Dude Ranchers Association is proud to welcome two new Wyoming ranches as their newest members. A Bar A Ranch and the Lodge and Spa at Brush Creek Ranch underwent a rigorous application and inspection process to join the DRA.

A Bar A Ranch is located in the scenic Medicine Bow Mountains of southern Wyoming. This historic ranch was established in 1926 and still shares 100,000 acres with guests. A Bar A is a warm weather ranch that focuses on traditional western activities such as trail rides, cattle drives, fly fishing, and skeet shooting, Supervised children and teen programs at the ranch allow all guests to experience a true vacation- whether it be riding or relaxing. During the summer months, western artists and musicians join guests for special workshops and performances.

The luxurious Lodge and Spa at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming, is settled on 13,000 acres of a 19th century working cattle ranch. In addition to traditional ranch activities the Lodge and Spa at Brushcreek Ranch offers year round adventures including cross country skiing, zip lining, snowmobiling, mountain biking, and geocaching. A full service spa, salon, sauna and steam rooms, and fitness center also reside on the ranch’s wide open spaces.

The Dude Ranchers Association, or DRA, has worked to promote communication and high quality experiences in the dude ranching industry since its beginnings in 1926. As the leading governing force in the West’s dude ranch industry, DRA members convene annually to discuss changes in the industry and set guidelines and standards for quality. The DRA also works with federal and state land agencies to preserve and protect parks, forests, and wildlife. To join the DRA, ranches are evaluated in numerous areas including horsemanship, hospitality, honesty, and rate packages. Currently over 100 member ranches in the western U.S. and Canada and 150 associate members make up the DRA.
