(EMAILWIRE.COM, August 04, 2011 ) New York, NY -- Obesity has become the most common, preventable cause of premature death and disability. Obesity related diseases, such as the metabolic syndrome x and its multiple associated disorders, are often unable to be treated in an effective manner by allopathic strategies (pharmaceuticals or surgery).
All branches of medicine have tended to focus on weight control, without due consideration for the correction of underlying metabolic disturbances that promote many disorders of premature aging. While effective strategies are being explored for weight reduction, the practice of bariatric medicine may have to be revised towards more holistic treatment programs to reduce premature mortality. There are a group of natural substances of nutritional or botanical origin that can be used in combination to manage metabolic syndrome x.
There has been a new discovery of multifunctional botanical compounds that have the ability to alter abnormal blood cholesterol, promote weight loss and balance blood glucose, all at the same time. No drug has been discovered that has this versatile benefit. These new finding are linked to the use of Citrus bergamot which is undergoing many clinical trials for its potential benefit in the nutritional management of syndrome X.
These findings have a major potential impact on the promotion of cardiovascular health and the management of the hallmark components of syndrome X which include dyslipidemia, hypertension, dysglycemia and insulin resistance. In my writings I have characterized metabolic syndrome x as the most important initiative for industrialized society where we have an estimated 70 million American with this disorder.
