Brian Rose Charities issues strong warnings to charity donators
Non-profit organizations and charities are not only a necessity in our society, they are also a major income source and tax shelter for thousands of organizations, Brian Rose Charities issues cautions to the donators that give to these organizations.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 22, 2011 ) Louisville, KY -- Brian Rose Charities is not your typical charity organization in several ways. First, it gives 100% of all monies collected away. Second, all of this money is given to an advocacy group that helps people give wisely to charity, the American Institute of Philanthropy (AIP).
Brian Rose is a NASCAR series driver, Brian Rose MotorSports, and the charity was built to accent his determination to make a difference in the world through advocating commitment, dedication, and success in all aspects of life.
A successful entrepreneur coupled with a talented athlete, Brian Rose launched www.BrianRoseCharities.org for the purpose of using his fan base and network to guide donators to make educated choices when giving to charities.
International Journalism Review (IJR) spoke with Rose who told us this, "This was an idea presented to me that made sense in that often people are fooled or deceived by great marketing efforts to give to charities that are ran for the sole purpose of paying outrageous salaries to the owners. At the end of the day, minimal amounts of money actually make it to the charity they represent."
"This is just a website that was created using my name with the hopes of attracting my NASCAR fans and network of people to get the word out and educate people so more money makes it to the people or cause that donators intend their money to go to. We are not by any means experts on evaluating charities. However, we have been impressed with AIP and their grading system, which leaves little to no room of being influenced or biased. Best of all it's a black and white grading system where people can decide for themselves.
Rose told us it would be nice just to see a higher percentage of all monies given to charities on a yearly basis, directed to the organizations that actually give the majority of donations to the cause they represent. IJR found that the website seems to reward the organization which they feel harnesses the best information. It does not endorse any particular charity but rather endorses a watchdog for charity organizations.
AIP has rated over 500 charities. The requirements that are included in API's thorough analysis is that 75% or more of any charity to be evaluated must spend their budgets on programs and spend $25 or less to raise $100 in public support. These two areas alone are where 90% of all charities fall short of even being evaluated by API, thus creating red flags from independent evaluations.
In addition to the analysis by API is that the charity cannot hold excessive assets in reserve and must be open to having an open book status for disclosures of basic financial information and documents to AIP.
IJR commends the efforts of both AIP and Brian Rose Charities. IJR encourages each donor to think about these factors and others, which they feel are more noteworthy, when making charitable giving decisions.
