Law of Attraction Dr. Rick Schaefer Presents a Unique Perspective on Decision Making

Decision making can be a serious thing, right? There's consequences associated with every decision made. What if it isn't all that serious after all? Dr. Rick Schaefer discusses decision making with a fresh and innovative approach.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 11, 2011 ) Milwaukee, WI - Dr. Rick Schaefer, law of attraction expert, author, physician and life coach, spoke about making decisions. Dr. Schaefer said "Every moment seems to offer a choice, don’t worry about it; imagine both choices are perfect!

Choice is a continual daily activity. People decide on a turkey or roast beef sandwich for lunch. People decide whether to park the car in the first spot we see, or head down the aisle hoping for a spot close to the mall entrance. People decide on reading a book or watching a movie, cleaning the kitchen or taking a nap, DSL or cable internet, buy some music or not, eat out or cook, etc.

So often during the decision process people agonize over fear of making the wrong choice and worry about wanting something different later. There is the worry about spending the money, or being embarrassed about the result later. It’s as though every decision is a lifelong commitment.

What if it really doesn’t matter? Imagine both choices being perfect. Imagine a great outcome either way. Take the sandwich example. It’s not that much of a leap to decide on turkey, and know that roast beef is available the next time, right? Imagine how great it is knowing there is a great choice for the future.

Take the parking spot at the mall example. Often, people think there will be disappointment if the perfect spot is not found, and further searching will be required to find it. Then a commitment to the decision is made, and the searching to find a close one continues. Or, a conclusion is made that by parking further away a wrong choice was made.

The way to resolve this is to shift attention from a win/lose perspective, to noticing how it feels perspective. Perhaps walking right now feels good. If so, park immediately. If driving around a bit feels good, then keep searching. If a spot doesn't appear right away, enjoy the drive, and the cars and looking at the people. Once the decision is made to choose a spot and then a closer one appears while walking towards the mall, does that feel bad? A solution to help feel better about the decision to park is to imagine how great the person will feel who gets that spot. Imagine that person has a sore ankle and can really appreciate it. This shifts the thinking from the win/lose to the feeling perspective, and most people feel good by helping others.

Okay, that feels simple, right? Thinking differently about a sandwich or a parking spot feels within reach. Now imagine the “big” decisions in your life being the same. Imagine that there are two wonderful choices. Both are “correct” and the only choice to be made is the luxury of picking whatever feels best right in this moment, without any concern for the future. No human is ever really done. There are always more decisions to make, again and again and again. It’s simply no big deal.

Pick what feels best right now, and focus on all the reasons why they feel good. Fall completely into the positive aspects of the decision. It can be done, even with the big stuff…college or no college, move or don’t move, rent or buy, find a new job or not, new car or not, even turkey or roast beef. It’s really all the same.

Don’t take it all so seriously, and better yet, simply focus all the attention on the positive aspects of the choice, and enjoy it fully during the experience. Enjoy the process, and don’t worry about the result. There are always endless opportunities to enjoy choosing again, and again."
