Annie Khalid: Now launching debut single “be my baby”
Annie has recently released her UK debut single, "Be My Baby" the proceeds of which would go to the flood victims in Pakistan. She was also appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for Red Cross in Norway.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, October 15, 2010 ) London, UK - Annie Khalid, a British Pakistani music artist, got popular after the success of her song mahiya (2005) which was later taken for a Bollywood movie awarapan in 2007.
After the success of Mahiya, annie started working with various charities, raising awareness for education and health. Also within this short span of time, Annie became a household name and endorsed high profile brands, becoming the most popular female artist and the most Influential Teen in Pakistan to date.
She was also asked to be the showstopper at the L’Oreal Karachi fashion week for BNS couture. Annie's girl-next-door image landed her a deal with the beverage giants Pepsi. She was signed in 2007, to be the face of Pepsi Pakistan. Pepsi then teamed up with Annie along with Indian singing legend Adnan Sami Khan for the next advert.
Two years back Norwegian Telecom Company “Telenor” signed her as their brand ambassador and she came to be known as the “Talk shawk girl.”
Being a global artist Annie feels she can work for various causes and bridge gaps between communities. She has a registered charity with which she would like to raise health and education awareness worldwide.
She was recently in Norway where she raised money with the Red Cross for the flood victims in Pakistan and was appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Norwegian Red Cross
Annie, who has already made it big in the Pakistani music scene, will announce the launch of her pop career in the UK with a press conference on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Pakistan High Commission in London.
Her UK debut single “Be My Baby” is mixed by the award winning DJ, Judge Jules, who will also be present at the conference.
The music video of the song is already on air and has been directed and produced by Bradley.tv.
