Introvert Marketers Woefully Short of Role Models, Says Sponsor of First Annual Marketing for Introverts Seminar on Maui

In a survey of introverted business professionals, most could not name a successful introvert they'd hold up as a model

(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 10, 2010 ) Goshen, MA – In a survey of more than 300 self-described introverts in business, less than half were able to name a single notable person with their personality whom they considered a model of success. To creative marketing expert Marcia Yudkin, that vividly demonstrates the poor public image of introverts and the critical need for greater appreciation of introverts’ success strengths. Yudkin’s upcoming Marketing for Introverts seminar in Maui (www.yudkin.com/maui.htm ) will dispel damaging myths about introverts’ abilities while teaching marketing approaches that particularly suit reserved business owners and professionals.

"A revealing comment that came up in the survey was 'I guess I have assumed that if someone is successful enough for me to know of them, they aren't really an introvert,'" Yudkin says. "Introvert personality strengths like good listening, thinking before speaking, clear communication, resourcefulness, creativity and reliability can certainly lead to leadership, financial success and fame. You don’t have to be the loudest person around to attract admirers and clients."

Notable introverts named in the survey include Abraham Lincoln, Ayn Rand, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jacqueline Kennedy, Nelson Mandela, Jane Goodall - and Marcia Yudkin, who began standing up for introverts in marketing in the summer of 2009 with a Marketing for Introverts Manifesto that has been distributed online.

Yudkin herself lives with few neighbors in the woods of Western Massachusetts but has performed her work on National Public Radio, spoken at professional conferences to promote her 12 books, conducted countless teleseminars and led numerous marketing seminars. The latest book is Persuading People to Buy, published in August 2010. Her pioneering two-day seminar on Maui in January 2011 not only will pass on ideas for introvert-friendly marketing methods and strategies but also features a format that fits introvert preferences.

The seminar is limited to ten participants (six spots are still available), it is not being recorded, in recognition of introverts’ feelings about confidentiality, and the dynamic includes more discussion and on-the-spot coaching than lecturing.
