(EMAILWIRE.COM, July 08, 2010 ) Detroit, MI - Construction apprenticeships began for Detroit Public Schools students Wednesday, July 7, 2010. The district says in a release that some students will start with site supervisors on the city's northwest side. Classroom instruction will be combined with onsite experience in the construction trades.

The nine-week program began at six construction sites this week for 75 Detroit students.
