New Works By Litchfield County Artist Robert Lenz Will Be Featured At Exhibition At The Morrison Gallery Starting July 10th
The show, which runs through August 8th, will feature both still lifes, landscapes and, for the first time, monotype prints.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 23, 2010 ) Hartford, CT - More than 30 new works by contemporary realist painter Robert Lenz of Kent will be exhibited starting July 10th at The Morrison Gallery in the Barns section of Kent.
It is the first exhibition at The Morrison Gallery since 2008 for Mr. Lenz, a former top advertising creative director who gave up his career to devote full time to his first love, painting. The show, which runs through August 8th, will feature both still lifes, landscapes and, for the first time, monotype prints.
Mr. Lenz’s works of contemporary realism place a greater emphasis on drawing, which the artist believes is the foundation of all good painting.
“As I continue to focus on contemporary realism, I understand my goal is not just to please myself with a successful painting, but even more so, to give pleasure to everyone who views my work," says Mr. Lenz.
An opening reception will be held at the gallery July 10th from 4 pm to 6 pm.

About Bob Lenz:
As a painting and Fine Arts major at the University of Illinois, Bob Lenz exhibited oil and watercolor landscapes and still lifes throughout the Chicago area during the late fifties and early sixties. Upon graduation he migrated to New York and began a successful and award winning career as an advertising creative director responsible for memorable campaigns.
Thirty five years later, in 1998, he returned to his first love, painting. Since then he has studied at the Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, CT., the Washington Art Association in Washington CT., the National Academy of Design and the Art Students’ League in New York City. Now living in South Kent, CT. and New York City, he is exhibiting again and has resumed a vital and prolific career as a painter and print maker. His work has recently been exhibited at the Silvermine Guild Gallery, the Paris-New York-Kent Gallery and The Morrison Gallery. In addition to exhibiting, he is also teaching through the Washington Art Association.
